1) Tell us a little something about choosing the hospitality industry…
I’ve always been surrounded by good food and drink in my life. At university, I felt aimless and unsatisfied, eventually realizing my love was making people happy with food. After many years of learning my craft, I opened my first restaurant in 2010. Our company now owns and operates 7 units from a boutique hotel to a taco tequila bar.
2) When was your lightbulb moment?
My lightbulb moment was meeting my now-business-partner and realizing what I was terrible at the business side of the business. I’m very good at making wonderful food, creating relationships and being creative. I’m terrible at actually running a business. You need to be honest and surround yourself with people who are good at what you suck at!
