1) Tell us a little something about your business…
Fatigued, anxious, irritable, sleep deprived and forgetful…physician heal thyself!
After 14 years of post-secondary education and just as many years practising as a high volume obstetric and gynaecological surgeon, raising twin girls and juggling all the other facets of life in the 21st century, I started to crumble. Yet I was stymied by my symptoms, as my conventional training fell short in explaining all that I was struggling with. In desperation, I took my medical ‘blinders’ off and sought the help of two healthcare professionals who historically I would have had no time for – a Naturopathic doctor and a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor. The uncontested diagnosis was adrenal fatigue, a stress related phenomenon. And so my personal healing journey began – mind, body and spirit.

2) When was your lightbulb moment?
It became painfully evident that so many others were struggling with the very same or similar symptoms that I was experiencing, and that there was also a demonstrable gap in our Western medical approach to diagnosis and therefore treatment. It was from these personal trials and my desire to educate others that gave rise to the Institute for Hormonal Health. Since 2011, our integrative and holistic practise has successfully treated thousands of patients, marrying the principals of naturopathic and traditional Chinese medicine, bio-energetic and conventional medicine all anchored on a foundation of nutritional science. Our services have blossomed and now include both healing from the inside and outside! We have multiple divisions at the Institute for Hormonal Health including our core hormonal health program for both men and woman addressing adrenal fatigue, menopause, andropause, hypothyroidism and much more. And by patient request we have introduced additional divisions and programs including weight management, oncology, urogenital atrophy, pain management, and our natural
aesthetics divisions!

3) Three words of advice…
It has been a beautiful journey to see the positive outcomes in so many who have struggled as I had.
