1) Tell us a little something about your business.
MediaFace is a Toronto-based consulting and content creation firm. We turn business problems into assets and complex ideas into engaging stories. What differentiates us from other marketing agencies is a staff of professionals from traditional storytelling fields – journalism, film, and publishing – committed to telling a great story designed to achieve real business goals. We go beyond the tactics to discover the “why” of creating content, distilling our clients’ problems into actionable solutions. With a firm grasp of their needs, we leverage business opportunities designed to increase sales, build awareness, train teams, and become thought leaders. Acting as an extension or totality of marketing, communications, learning, and sales teams, companies of all sizes hire us for full strategies and à la carte items including video, animation, augmented reality, social media, and copywriting.
2) When was your lightbulb moment?
It was one of those right-place, right-time moments. In 2007, I’d just left my job in TV broadcast news and saw the start of a nascent website called YouTube. I knew there’d soon be a need for video content – lots of it – and my experience as a reporter, anchor, videographer and writer gave me the tools I needed. MediaFace started as a video production company and has continued to respond to emerging trends in the content landscape. We’ve grown into a full-fledged consulting and content company operating out of Toronto.
